How Base Camp Emerge, LLC Started
I discovered that I come alive and am at my best in playful and game-like situations. It is during these moments that I feel most relaxed and genuinely myself. Embracing my natural character, along with my seemingly impenetrable defenses, became the inspiration for the business idea behind this organization.
Base Camp Emerge was born in December 2019 from the profound realization of the transformative power of play in fostering authentic connections among individuals, leading to more inclusive, collaborative, and fulfilling workspaces.
At Base Camp Emerge, our mission is to foster inclusive and collaborative work environments that cultivate strong connections among individuals. We embrace and harness the remarkable power of play to achieve this objective.
About Dr. Teresa Middleton
Throughout my professional career, I found it challenging to establish a sense of comfort and connection with others. My focus was primarily on task completion and project success. Regrettably, I never fully immersed myself in the social aspect of work, often feeling awkward in those situations despite wanting to be more engaged.
To help others remedy their feelings of exclusion and isolation whether by their own doing or others, I created an organization called Base Camp Emerge, LLC.
Our mission is to foster inclusive and collaborative work environments that cultivate strong connections among individuals.
Career Highlights
- Hands-on experience working in diverse teams and assuming leadership roles to understand the dynamics, challenges, and opportunities that teams encounter
- Experience facilitating team-building activities, workshops, and training sessions including facilitating discussions, managing group dynamics, and fostering effective communication
- Experience facilitating productive dialogue within teams to address any interpersonal issues that may hinder team cohesion and performance
- Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence including active listening, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different team dynamics
